Snowshoe Hare shouts out a big thanks to all that participated in our 2024 Homecoming event!  We are throwing a marker in the sand for the 2025 event, targeting Saturday, August 16th.  Keep an eye out for more information as the calendar pages fly by!

The Wanakee Wilderness 5K trail race supports our camp scholarship fund and continuous improvements to our facility infrastructure, gives our guests and supporters an opportunity for exercise and enjoy the scenic White Mountains and Lakes Region of New Hampshire and to celebrate the end of our summer camp season.

This is a perfect outdoor event for family and friends to attend. They can be a race participant or cheer on our competitors as they approach the finish line. After the race, we invite you to stay and join us for our annual Homecoming BBQ and camp activities post award ceremony. There is something for everyone to enjoy on race day at Wanakee

The WW5K is a challenging and exciting course traversing through the beautiful hills and woodland valleys of our 227 acre site. As a race participant you’re sure to enjoy the varied trail terrain through northern hardwoods and evergreens, running over the granite rocks and woodland paths toward Lemon Squeeze, enjoying the breathtaking view of the Lakes Region from Look Out Point, or feeling the cool breeze along the path at the Waterfront.
